“LEEN” is an acronym I created; it stands for “Late Eighties / Early Nineties.” As someone born in 1980, this particular segment of the 20th century was by far the best in terms of entertainment and popular culture options. It occurred after the lameness that was the early 1980s yet before the sell-out, digitally-enhanced nature of the late 1990s. As far as I’m concerned, LEEN encompasses anything and everything between 1985 (the birth of Pee-Wee Herman’s popularity) and 1994 (one year before ABC sold its soul and sitcom lineup to Disney).
This page will be updated every Tuesday, with columns about TV programs, movies, video games, people, pop culture, and events that were part of the 1985-1994 span of time.
Do you have a particular LEEN memory that you’d like me to review? Or maybe you’d like to share your own in paraphrased form by me. Simply contact me at fumor.net@hotmail.com.
